Has anyone contacted you about Vibe Ride?
I am not soliciting the company cause I think it's just another MLM but I was curious if anyone actually tried it or knows anything about it. When I was contacted I said that I wasn't interested cause I know how they work, but of course they were trying to ask if I knew any other drivers. I just ignored them.

Vibe ride has to be the absolute worst name for a product that isn't a sex toy.

Oh, look! A fancy website with lots of stock photos and nothing of substance! And what's this about being your own boss and earning passive income off of your "network?!?"
If that isn't MLM I don't know what is.

Hi,
First yes its an MLM (that is the Phone, Digital Tv, Boost and other products side).
Though the ride share side is a true ride share. You don't have to be a Rep to drive or ride with Vibe Ride. Also saw that one comment, and yes its pretty funny. I assure you though, that is absolutely not one of our products :).
If you want the driver rate card it's at the bottom of the terms of service page. Here https://viberides.com/terms/
We are launching in TX and FL first.
Thanks for the website, and sorry there are indeed a bunch of stock photos, but we are just starting. I hope to get those replaced with real driver/customers in the very short future.
So yep, we are a MLM, and yep we are also not an MLM. We offer both sides for those that do and do not want to join.
(I also don't hate the MLM side) We are selling real services. I use them. Happy to talk to anyone about it. I definitely don't want to turn a quick answer session into a spammy ad.
If you have any questions, just let me know and I will do my best to help answer them.
Thanks,M

Vibe Rides is fully operational statewide in Texas and Florida.
Vibe takes a large part of the fares they collect and pays them out to drivers as a way to incentivize them to share the app. Since we have a tiny fraction of the R&D costs of Uber and Lyft (we're not developing autonomous vehicles and flying bicycles, or whatever) we have more with which to reward drivers and reps.
Full disclosure - I am a rep.

I can no longer see what UBER makes on the ride
Up until recently, maybe a few days ago. I’ve been able to see what the rider pays as well as what I make and what Uber makes on every single ride that I do. Suddenly I cannot see what Uber makes or what the rider paid.
I’m not sure if this has been answered yet but it is concerning.

Uber rider brings hooker thought it was his gf nasty cleanup
Apparently the lady masturbated the rider under a jacket in my back seat on the way to drop off. Left a bodily fluid mess in the back and it was all over the carpet the door and speakers and windows. Had uber charge them big cleaning money am disgusted trashy hookers are too cheap to rent a hotel room. I hope this post helps other drivers be aware of who is in your car my peeps. Always keep an eye on them especially drunks late at night.

My email to Uber's CEO.
Hello, Dara. I wanted to share with you my experience with trying to drive with your company.
I kept receiving emails telling me to drive for Uber, encouraging me to rent a car to do so. So I applied and provided all my current (at the time) information. I was approved but didn't start right away. I waited a week to look for a rental, at which time I noticed I was getting offers for Orange County, CA, which is the exact opposite side of the country.
I chat with your support team, where I'm told I was set up to drive in CA. Not only that, but somehow your company found my old driver's license from CA, which I never provided. Even had a picture of it. Kind of creepy. The agent says they will reset me to drive in DC and I'd have to resubmit my info, which I did and was again approved.
After a few weeks, I finally book a car, which I did through your partner company, Getaround, because you spammed me with emails and texts about it, sometimes more than once a day. I pick up the car but can't use it because there is an issue with the registration. Getaround gives me another car, but I still can't pick up passengers.
I call Uber, and from here began what has become a never-ending series of phone calls and chats, yelling, demanding supervisors 30 times to the same agents, and literal phone throwing. I was told the old rental was keeping me from driving and was removed. Didn't work. Was told it was my California license, which I've now said repeatedly over the last month I don't have and don't know how you got it. Then it was "I don't know, you'll hear something in 3-5 business days, meanwhile I've already paid for the rental. Finally get told I need a VA license, which I get this morning. Uploaded, and it was rejected. Re-uploaded with supporting document, and it's been non-stop waiting since.
This should never of happened. Someone long before today should have either asked for my CURRENT license or said I need a VA license to drive in the DC market. Instead, your company did everything short of coerce me into a rental with your partner for the purpose of driving with Uber, and your company has done everything in its power to prevent me from using the rental for its intended purpose. Instead of making money, I'm losing money because of your company's incompetence and potentially fraud.
If you want to look into my account, my phone number is . My name is .
This is my last resort before I seek legal remedies. I'm also CCing this to my Congressman because if there is a government watchdog group that oversees this behavior, I certainly would like to know.
If you still don't understand why I'm angry, maybe think about having to call your customer service agents in Manilla for 24 hours straight after the company took a sizable amount of your money and tell me how you'd feel.

Surprising economics of driving a Tesla Model 3 for Uber
I have been driving my Tesla Model 3 for Uber for about 9 months now, ~4000 rides, Boston, full time.
The car costs about $40k, so you say NFW is this gonna make sense, right? Can't afford that monthly payment, etc. But consider these facts:
Electricity costs almost exactly 1/2 what I would pay for gas compared to a 30mpg car
Electricity in New England (and CA) is about 2x the rest of the country, so elsewhere is's 1/4 as much as gas
I charge at home, so start each day with a full tank of electrons. Ten seconds to plug in. I typically do 150 miles a day, so the standard range battery (240 miles) is plenty in most cases. If I do need to recharge, there are 6 well-places fast-chargers around the city.
Almost no maintenance needed on the car. No oil changes, no exhaust, no transmission, no cooling system, no nothing. Brakes last easily 3x longer because of regenerative braking. Car now has 36k miles, mostly Ubering and have spent $2.99 on washer fluid so far. Gonna spring for new wiper blades soon.
Tires, shocks, alignment same as normal car (probably a bit more since you want good rubber)
This car is designed to be a taxi - unlike others, it's drivetrain and other components are designed for 1M miles.
Battery is guaranteed for 120k miles, but many have found they last for closer to 300k. Not like your phone or laptop
Great resale value compared to any car.
Car has "virgin" leather seats even base model, and they are holding up incredibly well. Easily cleaned and super durable.
Driving is a fucking joy. You totally rule with instant pickup, brilliant handling, incredibly comfortable seats, toys and features found on super-luxe cars, and some features not even found on suber-luxes cars.
Huge trunk, plus "frunk" -- I can get several full-sized suitcases, plus, several carry-on sizes, plus other stuff in the trunk, and the front-trunk or frunk holds even another carry-on bag. Many delighted/surprised customers.
Single-pedal driving. "Regenerative braking" means that when you lift off the accelerator, the car slows smoothly and significantly, to a dead stop if that's what you want. Never hit the friction brakes, which is why they last forever.
Smooth and quiet and fast. Electric motor is silent, smooth and comfortable for riders -- frequent comments are that people feel confident and steady. And OMG, the car is quick and handles better than my old BMW (yes, better, period).
Best car I have ever driven in the snow, and it's a RWD. Traction/stability control in an EV is far more precise and quick than gas. I do have winter tires.
Customer reactions are priceless. People love-love-love the car. They frequently ask me WTF I am doing driving Uber if I can afford such a luxury vehicle. They say things like "I have now seen the future of cars" and "it looks like a space ship" and "it's so clean and simple" and "did I just pay for a Lux ride?" and so much more.
I probably deserve a reasonably high rating since I do provide top-notch service, but I am telling you, people love this car and frequently ignore all of my faults because it's so cool/nice/comfortable. I have a 4.99 rating now, thanks to the car. High rating == more rides.
No hump down the middle (no drive shaft) so middle seat in the rear is flat, makes it easy for customers to get in and out, and middle seat is not a "penalty". Lots of room in the back, and people regularly comment that it's spacious and exceptionally comfortable.
Great for conversations. I have probably sold 100 people, maybe more who now see why Tesla is their next car. If you do have a customer that's gonna buy, get bonuses from Tesla for referrals, e.g. free charging.
Great sound system. Bluetooth of course, but also built-in Spotify, and (fun for Saturday nights) Karaoke player (no, really).
Self-driving/Auto-pilot is fantastic on highways. I think of it as a co-pilot who is always paying attention even when the eh-hem, fucking Uber Driver app is attempting to distract me/confuse me/send me the wrong way. Great in stop-and-go, great in many smaller cases.
Some markets for Lyft offer better rates for green cars.
My calculated cost-per-mile so far is $0.06/mi. Yeah, really. Would be less if I didn't live in New England.
So do the math, compared to a Camry or other typical taxi the economics make driving for Uber almost something that you could make a living on. As Uber drivers, we need to focus on total cost of ownership (TCO), rather than monthly payment. More money up front, of course, but substantially lower cost on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. And all deductible.

How many guys can fit into an Uber X?
I pull up to the house. Already I see 5 guys with large cups with drinks in their hands. I open my window, which I will shortly tell them no drinks.
"Brandon?"
"Yeah."
"You have five people?"
"No, hang on."
He looks back and shouts "How many people we got?"
From the distance I hear "8". "We got 8. We'll squeeze in."
WTAF?!! "Are you kidding me?!"
"It's cool."
I could go into more detail, but are you kidding me?! That's more than an XL can hold. I have a damned Outback. I tell him no of course.
"Oh, well you'll just have to cancel."
I drive far enough to where they can't see me, but not far enough to stop the clock. Just after the clock ran out, I went to cancel when they cancelled. 7 bucks cancellation fee.
Seriously. What's the record for you guys? I never thought anyone would be obnoxious enough to assume 8 people could fit in an X. Most I've ever had was 6. And of course I refuse 5.

I got deactivated out of nowhere for having an “associated account that was deactivated”. I’ve never had another Uber account. Advice?
Got an email on my way to work today that told me I’m being deactivated because I have another “associated” Uber account that was deactivated, which breaks the terms of service and therefore they are deactivating my Partner account. I’ve never had another Uber account in my life, most definitely not a Partner one that was deactivated before, so I have no idea what they’re talking about. Their email says the outcome is final so the support network won’t be able to help me. Anyone else had this issue or have any advice?

"Driver Support" : aka how to waste drivers' time, piss them off, and waste corporate $$
I think out of a few hundred "driver support" phone calls, I have received real help about twice.
The last time I called, I was on the call for over 40 minutes and transferred to four different people.
My question was "will I lose my consecutive bonus if I cancel a ride after the timer runs out and they don't show?"
I would assume this is an "uber" basic question. "Driver support" is a joke and probably costing Uber millions. Lol @ all them.
EDIT: no, I don't know exactly how many calls I've made. Also I choose to call and don't bother with emails or chats with them. I only call - no chats. However I feel that if that is your concern after reading this post, you're one of the moron drivers that misses a lot of things lol.

Disappearing Trip Request
I’ve searched this sub a bit and can’t seem to find any solution to this issue. Lately I’m having an issue where unless I have the Uber app specifically open I do not have the ability to accept any trip that comes through the app. When I click the notification banner on my phone (iPhone X) it opens the app and there’s no trip there. I know someone is going to make the argument that I should always have the app open regardless and that’s something I try to do, but it’s not always possible. I’m simply wondering if anyone has been able to resolve this issue. It’s pretty frustrating that I’m missing multiple trips each day because the app can’t function correctly. I hate Lyft in my area but their app never has an issue letting me accept a ride. Thanks for your help!

Top driver?
What does that even mean? Be cool if Uber would stop giving me dumb word trophies and just pay me more than 22 bucks out of what I know are 38 dollar fares. 😑
